Revenue sharing files, 1976-[ongoing].

When this series was created in the early 1970s, the materials in the files were concerned with state and federal revenue sharing projects. Currently, this series documents the distribution of interest generated by funds held in trust for the Highway Dept. The interest can be used at the discretion of the governor. As a general rule these funds are given to small towns, schools, volunteer fire departments, and other nonprofit organizations. Included in this series are letters or memoranda from the Governor's office requesting money be disbursed to a particular organization or agency, statements of the interest earned by the trust fund, issuing vouchers, and ledgers of the trust fund.
